Jussieu

hey there are photos today.

this was taken from the Atrium building of the Jussieu campus. Well Paris VI has a few campuses but i dont think im going to bother with the rest. and some of Paris VII is in here too, shrug.
This building, is the most colorful, interesting, friendly, warm building in the entire [...]

Laura Pausini - One More Time

this is a fantastic song. 1. it’s laura pausini. 2. powerful song/singing/words. 3. it’s beautiful. 4. if you could understand the meaning…
do listen to it at a loud enough volume. it is the kind of music that echos into the vast void, both filling it up and emphasizing its emptiness.

of course i have a better [...]

existentialism

something unrelated to where i am now (even though there are links). actually prompted by zeráfiel on the meaninglessness of life.
it reminded me of Camus, and his idea that one of the critical points in life is when you actually decide whether to commit suicide or not. or perhaps, when you find that life is [...]

ryanair

omg, ryanair is like so funny
That ad, published Monday in the French daily Le Parisien, shows the smiling couple with a comic book speech bubble coming from Bruni’s head saying: “With Ryanair, all my family can come to my wedding.”
sarko and his gf are just plain funny too. anyway sarko plans to sue ryanair

le 2ème jour | carte orange

bonjour à tous, ah whatever.
what happened.. oh unfortunately there are 0 photos today, so just imagine.
i woke up from a nightmare (a very real and bad nightmare, actually only the last few minutes of it was a nightmare, but it was still absolutely scary, i mean i havent had any like this in eons), which [...]

un peu de Paris

Bonjour.
The first proper day in Paris
woke up at 10+, moved my stuff over to Bern’s room, yeah move here move there. Then rushed out to meet anna and jiajing. tried to get a carte orange, the metro woman said unintelligible stuff and kept pointing me to the machine. i really couldn’t understand her coz i [...]

politesse

also heard of their distressing experience sans [w/o] internet.  the application and activation of internet access din go through for 1 or 2 months. which was very miserable, coz, well, internet.
and then carte de sejour application also takes > 1 mth. hm.
i’ve forgotten how fun it is to enter buildings with access codes, it’s just [...]

dinner

went out for dinner with lucien and bernadette (bern). bern’s got this crazy day where she had 5 traumatic experiences. it’s rather scary to hear her experiences with weird guys on the street. one who offered “bon baise”, another who tried to grab her arm, and an old lady who was complimenting bizarrely on her [...]

away flight

thank you to those who came to the airport at a lousy time of the day.  yup. no matter that it was a lousy day.
let’s start with the day… i was bored, i moped around at home. i finally went out to watch The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, a lovely movie based on the [...]

packing

i think the hardest thing to pack would be the innards of the computer. it’s taken me days to troubleshoot networking because of some conflicts with port 22 and faulty files. im so glad to have my SSH back, it’s so lovely compared to FTP. whoopee. no more lousy FTP. although i am still puzzled [...]
