phuket

forgot to mention that i went to phuket. anyways it’s not very important. let’s take a look at the more interesting photos, and a few of the un-interesting ones.

unpopular_island
phiphifoggies

[1] a particularly unpopular island off Changi. [2] aerial view of Phi Phi island, i believe. which we should revisit in later photos when the boat goes there. characteristic Twin Bay which The Tsunami swept over. [3] some foggy islands, which I thought look rather pretty. it’s not actually that foggy without the plane windows. but yeah still.

taxiriverfarmy

[4] front of the taxi. i didn’t remember taking this cheesy classic photo. [5] some other stuff from the plane. a string of stuff running down the river. ben. [6] other farming implements which i do not understand

buffalotrucktabletenniscouple

[7] buffalo being transported to its death and delicacy. [8] makeshift table tennis, almost exactly what I had in primary school. except that mine was made from bigger tables, and some of them were vertically stacked nicely enough to play hide-and-seek in. [9] 3rd day out on a boat. that’s the ?nationality couple. they couldnt keep up with the guide’s lousy english so i had to translate to french for them. but then they don’t speak french with each other. so i dunno. the woman din swim at all, though she kept smiling all the time. almost freaky. maybe their honeymoon. had a film SLR though.

longpicstallpatongbeach

[10] cropped pic. but i think it looks nice. although it was hard to take with the boat zooming and shaking. [11] oops why is this pic here. one of those bikecartshop overladen with goods. [12] the Patong beach. well… it is a nice stretch of beach. it’s got nice sand, only nice. the water is not great coz there’s some algae colony (seaweed) out there, and there’s a sizeable number of boats. it’s lined with beach chairs, which i dont fancy alot actually. leaves this crabby patch of tidal area (now what was that called). and few ppl are playing anything.

littleislandlousyboatfeedfish

[13] little island. cant remember the name. it’s got beautiful sand and water, and too much sun. just the place to be washed ashore from a shipwreck. [14] a Longboat. i have neutrally unpleasant memories of taking these things years ago. small enough to touch the water with your hands. don’t like. quaint. [15] that’s fishes on bread diet. apparently salty soggy bread tastes nice.

morefishmayabaytsunamimemorial

[16] zoomed in. you can see clear water. oddly it’s not as clear from inside the water, probly due to the sand being disturbed up. [17] maya bay. a nice little cove, with too many boats. [18] that’s on the PhiPhi island, a banner commemorating tsunami day. i had forgotten it was that day. oops. anyway it’s safer to be out at sea than to be on land, hah. 4000 died on phiphi.

cloudpuffs

[19] i like this cloud bedding. it went away in a minute though. it must be really boring on the plane for pilots. pah.
