thank you to those who came to the airport at a lousy time of the day. yup. no matter that it was a lousy day.
let’s start with the day… i was bored, i moped around at home. i finally went out to watch The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, a lovely movie based on the book Le Schaphandre et Le Papillon. French stuff again. A true story and book written by an editor of Elle who had a stroke and became totally paralyzed. Story was written by the blinking of his left eyelid. Marvelous feat. I like those films.
sigh.
also got myself a Samsung U3 mp3 player, it worked much better than the Zen stone, though more expensive.
flights. Qatar plane from singapore is like so lousy. sucky plane, sucky food, sucky entertainment. It was only during transit that I learnt that I missed the initial sandwich refreshments. I didn’t realise that I had fallen asleep, no wonder later on I couldn’t get to sleep and thought I was dying. And then I later fell asleep but was woken for breakfast, which was sucky. The omelette was sucky, the apricot yoghurt was nice. Surprisingly the yoghurt was from Swiz. and they had strawberry jam from austria.
et puis? j’ai oublié.
then the Doha transit is/was/will be boring. well there’s nothing to do there. and you need to take bus out to the plane..sux. and they seem to like having raffle(s) for cars. decent cars. abt 100USD per ticket.
Doha to Paris plane was better. with movies to choose from and better food (i had another breakfast, well it’s the timezone’s fault). i think rattling planes are scary. the bulkhead tends to shake about during takeoff and landing.
i dislike the serious lack of accessible elevators in the crappy old paris metro system. no matter how much i like the cute thing. no wonder sg is obsessed with building elevators. fine. im so tired from luggage lugging.
paris is like so familiar. but so surreal, i cant believe im here. goshness. ! arghhh.
by the way i am frightened at being surrounded by covered-up arabs. and i also get frightened by those thug-looking ppl that are everywhere in paris. not that im being discriminatory against them. the african-looking ppl i mean. they just look the dangerous sort you know.

and i thot it was bad in the UK with their lifts all tucked away hidden in one corner of their train stations.
i had SUCH trouble lifting my luggage onto and off the damn trains =P
anyway, have fun exploring before school starts =)
i seriously think many(most) of the metro stations do not have lifts. perhaps the Huge stations have them. but the old ones are really, well, full of meandering tunnels.
trouble lifting? only? gosh, that’s the smallest of worries. =p
exploring is expensive.
wah liao u go airport also nvr tell me…tsk tsk. anyway enjoy urself over there!
oh my i wanted to meet up with you and hy before i left. shucks forgot. *waves to matthew*
