i miss going to Champs_Élysées and Châtelet. but i was just there like two weeks ago. withdrawal symptoms. i guess i can’t stand staying in my room and knowing that things are happening out there, buskers are jumping on and off trains, superb photo moments are passing by on the streets, and all that.
speaking of which, i think it would be really difficult to have a nice photo shoot. i should like to have a backview shot of me standing at the road side with the lights of the vehicles streaming by, and a stream of people popping in and out of the cafes and tabacs. that would be nice. there’s also a thing to note about taking shots like that, you’ve got to wait for the traffic to arrive. it’s amusing, to have to wait for the traffic light to turn green so that you can get vehicles in your picture.
but anyway the highlight of today is my dentist trip. the dentist asked me what was wrong, so i described to her, and then she took a look, poke poke around for 15 seconds, remarked something, and then said ok we’ll take out the dent à sagesse = wisdom tooth. so im like ok, but is it expensive. to which she says, oh no it’s just like 5 or 6 euros. and then she turned around, said “n’inquiétez pas… .. pas doulereux” and in 10 seconds was ready with the anaesthetic needle. and i was like, what? right away? i mean, aren’t wisdom tooth extractions supposed to be troublesome and complicated and all. .. hmm. then the anesthetic goes in, wait awhile, and she starts wrangling out my tooth with increasingly powerful ‘pliers’. i dunno. after very very vigorous pulling it finally came out. after that she’s like shall i prescribe you Douprane? of course i dont know what it is. but i didnt feel like speaking long sentences so i just whatever ok. [turns out it's just paracetamol anyway. is douprane their panadol?] so my wisdom tooth extraction lasted all of 15 minutes. then i was like, can i eat? do i have to come back? and she says sure you can eat, no need to come back. alright…
it cost 10,03€, after social security deduction. with 6,38€ for douprane and mouthwash from the pharmacie outside, although i havent claimed that yet.
and if you’ve got a ‘p’ at the end of the first word and a vowel on the second one, you’re supposed to do the ‘liason’. beaucoup_aimé. hm.
did i mention that lecture was boring? it was bloody boring. and the anaesthetic was getting to my brain. maybe lunch din taste very nice coz it was all bloody. not that i knew at that time, it was just achey pain. i like the mouthwash too, it’s half a torture but it numbs my mouth so.

you just made jx feel like going to france to get her dents de sagesse pulled… ça coute trop cher à sg =(
hope the painpain goes away soon *patpat*
so cheap! i will get mine plucked out soon. they are destroying my neat row of teeth.
make porridge and eat =)
come here to get them pulled? well you gotta spend a bomb on social security first, and if you’re going to pull that many, buy the expensive mutuelle and have practically all medical treatments fully paid for.
i am rather bemused by a 10€ annual allowance for contraceptives and pregnancy tests, it comes with the most expensive mutuelle. and also spectacle allowance. and other i dunno whats. anyway mutuelle is additional insurance coverage on top of social security. except that it’s not like insurance in that it dispenses money freely.
i think probably my tooth extraction was so cheap coz the tooth was already rather ‘grown’, no need to dig it out
