geek post

i started surfing Tom’s Hardware page. coz i was bored and i really really am tired of wondering about travel stuff. and it also gets depressing how pretty the people here are.

so here’s something to read

that review says that updating your graphics card to a newer generation one has the most significant speed boost gaming wise compared to changing CPU. hm. which in a way is nice to hear because i feel that its easier to change a graphics card. but it’s also quite expensive to do that. singapore dollars wise. it is also said that an expensive CPU does not translate to that much an incease in performance, especially if you overclock the cheaper CPU, but how many people do that. and if you change from an Geforce 7950 (i have a 7900 at home) card to a new G92 card, you can double the performance. that’s nice to hear. and it will also have DirectX10. other than that I do not use the computer often enough to justify any upgrade. I so miss the speed. this laptop card is like 10 generations old. but that computer is never going to be as fully customised and optimised as this precious thing. im still surprised the hard disk hasn’t died yet. nor anything else other than the one hot pixel it came with.

i am so going to miss my little red button. sobz. why is it that nobody ever understands how good it is. trackpad sux. trackpoint rules.

i still want my own server farm. no it doesnt grow servers.

i think it’s one thing to be overseas and away, but another thing to be in a different (time)zone from other people. it feels cut off. it’s like we’re just there, one click away, but we could just be living in a different universe, never meeting each other.

some times if some things were true, life would be so much easier, simpler, smoother. but it’s just not true no matter how much i might want it to be. and so it’s just not true.

oh and horror of horrors, i am actually going to miss cooking for myself. granted i have always been too lazy to do that, and not the least bit interested. i prefer to interest myself in eating nice food. but, im not interested in the cooking, what i like about it is the independence, the control, the decisions. i like eating what I feel like eating, be it good or bad. i like deciding how much salt i want, how much sugar i want, i like eating when i feel like eating, i like eating how much i feel like eating, i like putting in only the things i like, i like choosing or not having to choose, i like eating fruits when im ready to eat fruits, im perfectly happy with oopsy food when i know i did it, i like mixing things up in whatever way that i do not care, i just simply do not need to care or worry or do anything i do not feel like doing. i do not have to pay too much for ingredients that i do not want. but only for myself. amusingly, ingredients are very tolerable. i will also hate not having a proper stove/fridge/sink in nus. and bathroom too. it makes life so much more lifey. and i can eat great breakfasts and sandwiches. yummy. SG FOOD SUCKS.
