tech rant
jh the idiot forgot to do a comprehensive backup in the excitement of formatting the harddisk. ah well. at least i never ever save important files in my C drive or My Documents folder. so now my firefox bookmarks are gone. am i overreacting, haha. well anyway only the last 6 months of bookmarks are gone. grumble grimble. which are mainly my europe stuff. ok so that’s not so impt to sg life.
anyway interestingly XP Service Pack 3 is out. and there’s also Vista SP1. i still do not understand why the cd-key stuck to the bottom of my laptop cannot be accepted for installation. too bad. it is also behaving weirdly laggyly, perhaps it requires more Thinkpad drivers. XP can’t recognise anything, grah.
i also spent some time trying to figure out how to install thru USB key, but the instructions got too complicated. i mean, is it so hard to boot… used a CD-RW instead. i still have never managed to install over network.

you should really give foxmarks a try, it syncs your bookmarks to their online server, it works great as an automatic online backup, or if you have multiple computers (or use portable firefox).

ah, you see, i actually was using foxmarks.
the story goes that i had foxmarks, but i disabled it coz my sis was using my other comp and i din want to mess things up.
and i was going to re-enable it soon, but i delayed it coz i wanted to reorganise and clean up my bookmarks and i was lazy to do it before i reinstalled my system.
so anyway it’s not much of a loss. i still have 80-90% of my stuff.
anyway once in awhile it’s good to reset your life and figure out what’s impt in it.
