Sinister perversions coalesce like dark spirits
In my mind, lost, like black ink in a void.
Self-repelling, they gather like shadowed moths
Milling about the edges of my yellowed scroll.
With my black wand I have captured them,
Bound them with lines and curves on ruled paper,
Marked their ends with gentle periods.
Twisted they lie unmoving on the page.
These unwilling prisoners I wrap them
In yet thicker folds of iron bars,
Stamped and addressed lovingly
A hundred miles to you.
When the seal is broken, unfolding,
Shining light into the enveloping darkness,
Let them not take root in your thoughts.
Banish them into forgetfulness.

commentary
i am not satisfied with it. but i am a little tired of it, been at it for a week already. depicts a letter of depressing thoughts. originally intended to be a write-them-down-send-them-away-forget-them-forever kinda theme. ’stamped and addressed lovingly/ a hundred miles to you’ tralala
