A nice review of one of the simplest items: the lens UV filter. So what’s the big deal: if you’re buying from one of those big stores, try not to accept a crappy piece of glass as a piece of optical equipment. eg, none of those Tiffen trash or Steinzeiser or something. bad.
So if you’re lazy to read the review, they were measuring optical through-put of the filters and Hoya 72 mm HMC UV-0 comes out tops. It also happens to be the best price-to-value. The B+W filters actually comes out slightly lower, despite their higher price. Although some people claim that B+W filters do not scratch as easily when cleaning. hm. But they cost like 70-ish SGD for a 77mm. so… yeah.
