half-past

I met Mr Moon at half-past four
While out on my little walk
He said “Hello, how do you do
would you stop to talk?”

I asked him how it came to be
that he was up early for tea
“How on earth could i refuse?” said he
Brother Sun so warmly invited me.

written while waiting for the train at Slough because apparently I asked whether the moon and sun meet. isnt innocence just lovely?

I met thee at half-past life,
While on my little journey through.
You said “Hello, how’d You do,
my pleasure to be knowing you.”

I asked how might it come to be
that I find you while half-life through.
You never answered yes or no:
“Fate just happens, just like you.”
