I think Singapore is a very dangerous city.

why do I say that when we all know (why can’t I do italics on iPod
notepad) that it is oh so safe? because:
1. that taxi touts at Clarke quay will rip you off if you’re an angmo.
worse if you’re towing an Asian girl, but then you deserve it, just
joking
2. the Newton hawkers will give you extra large crustaceans and charge
you extra^2
3. you might get sexually harassed at HDB neighborhoods. we have an
exceptional problem of dangerous enclosed elevators
4. sometimes you unknowingly walk into a private elevator marked out
by some unsavory person’s pee.
5. dubious doctors might perform dubious cosmetic plastic surgery on
you at dubious prices
6. the sinsehs (aka online as herbalists) might break your bones when
perform healing massages. that’s if they’re not offering you roots and
bark concoction (serious, I swear!) or sticking voodoo needles into
you. welcome to 21st century Chinese tribal medicine
7. you already know about the govt fines and parking tickets
8. latest biggest swindle going on is casino of course. two bright new
glittering megapoliss. as they say, the house always wins, but what if
the govt is behind them…
9. crime is high in the red light district
10. we have gangs, well not so well known, but still a problem
11. if designer drugs don’t kill you, the police almost certainly will
12. it’s still possible to get molested at new year parties.
13. you get fleeced during CNY by those kids, don’t know why
14. and once more during Xmas. but this time by everyone, and the
retailers
15. mo bargaining at the proper shops but somehow nobody ever pays
full price for their clothes
16. the locals will always tell you that you got ripped off on that
last electronic gadget you bought.
17. hawker and coffeeshop food will probably give you diarrhea, look
at their hygiene standards
18. no drinking and driving
