26/365: silent forever, my hands speak for me

“I went to a tattoo parlor and had YES written onto the palm of my left hand, and NO onto my right palm, what can I say, it hasn’t made my life wonderful, its made life possible, when I rub my hands against each other in the middle of winter I am warming myself with [...]

“a drop of blood in a bowl of milk”
just read through Time Traveller’s Wife. shucks my money wouldnt last very long if I burned through books like that. But I would probably still be able to afford it but with not enough leftover to build a roof over my head. Anyhow its such a lovely [...]

livres

all the different books recently.
Norwegian Wood, Haruki Murakami
An odd murakami book. Very odd indeed. Just like how the reviews said that it was not of his style. It surely doesn’t seem to be. and yet, and yet there’s the classic cynicism biting into everything, in a perverse and painful way. But anyway, it’s a very [...]

How was it that no one had ever told her that it was not love itself, but its treacherous gatekeepers which made the greatest demands on your courage: the panic of acknowledging it; the terror of declaring it; the fear of being rebuffed?

“I want you always to remember me. Will you remember that I existed, and that I stood next to you here like this?”

Sorry, she could say, I might be the 100% perfect girl for you, but you’re not the perfect boy for me. It could happen. And if I found myself in that situation, I’d probably go to pieces. I’d never recover from the shock. I’m thirty-two, and that’s what growing older is all about.  – Murakami, [...]

“I’m just kinda tired, like a monkey in the rain.”
-Norwegian Wood, Murakami-

kafka on the shore

1. its a Haruki Murakami book. 2. does it make sense? no.
rather intrigued by the oedipus rex references. which was rather odd and amusing at the same time. somehow Murakami always writes in this roundabout hard to follow way, like you don’t really know what’s going on. and in th e end, its still like [...]

book craving again

got reminded of some nice names, like Arcadia, Magister Ludi, blah blah. and I wonder where are my books!
sometimes i find it sad that even if the book is very nice, i can’t recommend it to everyone. oh well, at least there are some people in the world who like to attempt those books. can’t [...]

Ender again

Orson Scott Card has released three books which I haven’t read. As a ex-fanatical fan, I cannot believe I haven’t read them. That’s how far my book-buying/reading spree has left me.
Keeper of Dreams
i do not want to read this book. simply because it is all about Mormon culture. no thanks.
