favicon

well you know that little icon that appears when you bookmark a webpage, i finally found out it’s called favicon. and i’ve got one too. it turns out to be really simple to do. you can just grab any picture, and use an online resizer which will reduce it to 16×16 and rename the [...]

poisson d’avril

( = April fool)
Europe may [...]

il ne faisait pas beau

took a walk around Paris today. unfortunately the weather sucked, it was threatening to rain all the while, and the wind was so cold. took a little walk in jardin du luxembourg, always nice to see kids and fountain, and statues and garden chairs. got a nice picture of the kid playing with his boat.

then [...]

ordered lists

gaypride is on 28th June. wonder if i’ll be around, suppose so.
i missed the fashion shows in March. GRRRRR. why do i keep missing things? perhaps im not parisien enough. or perhaps there are just too many darn things going on. i shall see if i can get into the Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2008/2009 shows [...]

state of mind

Despite all the insanity of studying or living in french, [...]

power is nothing without control

that’s the theme of this weekend. which is a somewhat last minute idea to go for the Geneva Motor Show 2008 (Salon internationale d’auto), coz it’s not that far away (although a little expensive), and it’s the most prestigious car show in the world. the array of cars was seriously fantastic, considering they had many [...]

transition state

after weeks of transition states and R and S configurations and beta courbes and ridiculous nervous systems, it’s over. whee, no more drawing microscope slides, no more useless organisms. sadly no more ‘organic chem’ lessons.
it’s a huge relief having finished the presentation. presenting in french is so stressful when those ppl are native french speakers [...]

hier^x

[forgot to post this a few days ago]
- amused at english powerpoint slides
- overjoyed with teachers who speak clearly with distinct words
- disbelief at the fantabulous review of organic chem and protein structure. after 2 years, it’s awe-ful to see Newman structures again.
- and some metro information staff are so unfriendly.
- visited Georges Pompidou for [...]

dinner

went out for dinner with lucien and bernadette (bern). bern’s got this crazy day where she had 5 traumatic experiences. it’s rather scary to hear her experiences with weird guys on the street. one who offered “bon baise”, another who tried to grab her arm, and an old lady who was complimenting bizarrely on her [...]

away flight

thank you to those who came to the airport at a lousy time of the day.  yup. no matter that it was a lousy day.
let’s start with the day… i was bored, i moped around at home. i finally went out to watch The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, a lovely movie based on the [...]
